How do I buy a game, wallpaper or ringtone?

We operate a very fair 'browse and buy' service so there are no subscription clubs to worry about. If you want something you buy it and if you don't.. then you don't!

If you visit the web site and enter your mobile phone number by one of the products you will be sent a free text message. In that message you will see a link. All you have to do is scroll down and click on the link and your phones web browser will open automatically and take you to the page with the content you are interested in.

Some handsets won't allow you to click directly on the link so please see the section below entitled "How do I select the link in the SMS message I have received?"

You will then be able to preview the wallpaper or ringtone before buying it. (Unfortunately you cant preview the games before buying but there should be enough information about it for you to decide if you want to buy it or not)

If you want to make a purchase then click 'buy now'.

You will then be taken to the Bango payment gateway. Bango are a specialist mobile payment solution very similar to "World Pay", "Metacharge" or "Protx". Bango are responsible for taking your payment from you and can do it in a number of ways including 'pay on your bill', premium SMS, credit card or paypal.

Once your payment has been confirmed the page will reload and you will be delivered back to our site where you will see a download link. Simply click the download link and wait for your content to download.

Please note: It's very important that you wait for the page to reload as this is how we confirm you have paid for the content. If you pay by premium SMS then there is no need to go to those messages - simply wait for the page to reload.

If your content download fails for some reason then return to the ringtone, game or wallpaper you wanted and you will be given the option to re-download it.

How can I pay?

Payments can be made on your phone bill, by premium SMS, Credit Card or PayPal through the Bango mobile payment gateway.

To pay on your phone bill
If agreements are in place with your mobile operator you will be given the option to pay on your phone bill.

For contract customers the payment will appear on your next bill. For Pre-Pay users the payment will be deducted from your credit.

To pay by Premium SMS
When paying by premium SMS you will initially just charge your bango account with credit. You will need to return to the WAPsite and use the 'Buy Now' link for the content you would like to buy. You can check the balance of your Bango account by visiting http://bango.net on your mobile phone and select My Options.

To pay by PayPal
To setup PayPal billing you need to follow the procedure below:
Visit http://bango.net on your mobile phone, select My Options and make note of the 'Fingerprint' number shown. Then visit http://bango.com/woc/paypal/ on your computer and enter the Fingerprint number in the box given. You will then go through an authorisation process to link your PayPal account to your mobile phone number.

How do I select the link in the SMS message I have received?

Nokia
Symbian OS - Open the message and scroll down until the link is highlighted, then press the select button. You may be asked to confirm connection to the internet. If you cannot select the link, select 'Options' and then enable the 'Automatic find' option.

Sony Ericsson
Open the message and scroll down until the link is highlighted, then press the select button.

How do I connect my phone to the Internet?

To visit a WAPsite you need to use the internet browser on your mobile phone. How this is done depends on the make and model of your handset, please check your user manual or contact your service provider (Vodafone, O2, Orange...) for help in setting this up.

How do I bookmark a WAPsite on my phone?

Whilst using the WAPsite you can add a bookmark by selecting the 'Bookmark', 'Add bookmark' or 'Favourites' option from your phone's menu. In future, simply select the bookmark from your 'Bookmarks'/'Favourites' menu. For further help with bookmarking, consult your mobile's user manual.

Why can't I send the wallpapers, games or ringtones I download to another phone?

All content is protected to prevent it from being shared with others. This is to preserve the rights of the content owner. You must not attempt to circumvent or disable this feature.

How much does it cost in WAP data charges to download content?

Your service provider may also make a charge for the data you download (this includes data downloaded to browse WAPsites). Sample prices as of February 2007 are:

  • Vodafone UK Pay Monthly: £2 per Mb - Typical Video(300kb): 60p
    Pre-Pay: £7.30 per Mb -Typical Ringtone(300kb): £2.20
  • Orange UK Pay Monthly: £2 per Mb - Typical Ringtone(300kb): 60p
  • T-Mobile UK Pay Monthly: £7.50 per Mb - Typical Ringtone(300kb): £2.26
  • O2 UK Pay Monthly: £3 per Mb - Typical Ringtone(300kb): 90p
  • 3 UK Browsing is Free
